    When do you need stitches?

    The stitches are needed in the following cases:

    • The wound or cut is dirty, or the risk of contamination is extremely high;
    • The bleeding is heavy with no signs of stopping;
    • The cut can lead to cosmetic aspect and affect the face, lips, eyelids, or the genitalia;
    • Cut or wound goes over or across one of the joints;
    • When the adipose tissue, muscles, and bones are exposed;
    • If the depth of the cut extends a quarter of an inch;
    • If the wound is the result of a bullet, nip or a rusty object.
